High School Resources

The Phoenix Curriculum High School consists of five 10-session units with age-appropriate problems and activities focused primarily on Prevention and Early Intervention.

Unit A
Engagement and discussion resources combined with elements to build self-awareness and emotional intelligence. The unit addresses critical risk factors, and helps develop stronger protective factors.

Engagement and discussion resources combined with specific problem solving skills. The lessons in this unit serve as key building blocks for further development.

Unit C
Engagement and discussion resources combined with specific problem solving skills - especially for handling critical risk factors. The lessons in this unit promote practice and mastery of specific skills (including techniques to avoid and escape problem situations).

A selection of increasingly more complex topical engagement and discussion resources combines with elements which provide awareness and practice in dealing with more advanced prevention strategies.

If it becomes apparent that the group of young people is in greater need of intervention, we recommend the following:

  1. select the shorter activities in this unit which can serve for engagement and discussion, and
  2. consider shifting the emphasis of the resources for this specific group to Units D and E.
